Cookie Policy
Effective from 5 November 2026
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Skin Scope only uses cookies that are strictly necessary for the site or for a feature you choose to use. We don't use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. Because necessary cookies don't need consent under EU law, the site doesn't show a cookie banner.
The only other on-device storage we use is your browser's local storage, for one feature: a loadout you are building in the loadout builder is saved there as a draft, so it survives a reload. It holds just the draft's name and the skins you picked, never leaves your browser until you choose to publish it, and is removed when you publish or clear the draft. The author name you last entered is kept there too, so you don't have to retype it; empty the field to remove it.
Our visitor statistics use no cookies and store nothing on your device. How they work is explained in our Privacy Policy.
Cookies we set
| Cookie | Purpose | Expires |
|---|---|---|
currency | Remembers the display currency you picked in the header. Set only when you choose one, and holds just the currency code. | 1 year |
NEXT_LOCALE | Remembers the language you are browsing in. | When you close the browser |
voter | A random id, set only when you like a loadout, so each browser can like a loadout once and take the like back. It isn't linked to who you are. | 1 year |
| Admin session | Keeps the site operator signed in to the admin area. Never set for public visitors. | 7 days |
Other services
Our content-delivery and security provider, Cloudflare, may set a strictly necessary security cookie (such as __cf_bm) to tell people from bots and protect the site from attacks.
On item pages, the 3D inspect preview is embedded from skinshotter.com, which is also protected by Cloudflare. Skinshotter, not us, controls any cookies set there. It may set Cloudflare security cookies (such as __cf_bm, or cf_clearance after a bot check) to protect its service. Item images are loaded from Valve's Steam servers and GitHub, which don't set cookies for us. See our Privacy Policy for more about these services.
Controlling cookies
You can see and delete cookies in your browser's settings, and block them altogether. If you block our cookies the site still works, but it won't remember your currency or language, and you won't be able to like loadouts.
Changes
If we ever add cookies that need your consent, such as analytics, we will update this page and ask for your consent before setting them.
